Refunds and cancellations

Laced plans are auto-renewing subscriptions billed by Apple or Google, so refunds and cancellations go through the store, not through us. Here is exactly how to do both, and what we can help with.

Effective · Updated

1. The short version

Paid Laced plans are auto-renewing subscriptions. You buy them inside the app and the charge is taken by Apple on iOS or by Google on Android. They are the merchant of record. We never take your money directly, which means we cannot issue a refund even when we agree you should have one.

So there are two separate things you might want, and they have different routes.

  • Stop being charged again. Cancel in your App Store or Google Play account. You keep the plan until the end of the period you paid for.
  • Get money back for a charge already taken. Ask Apple or Google. Only they can reverse it.

2. What you are actually buying

A plan buys billing profiles, and each profile is one entry capacity per release. The free plan has one profile. Paid plans have five, ten or twenty. Prices, and which store charges what, are on the pricing page.

Two things are worth being blunt about before you pay. A plan does not make any single entry more likely to be selected, because Nike picks at random and nothing we sell changes that. And a plan is a recurring charge, not a one-off unlock, no matter how the older version of this website described it.

3. Renewal price, period and cancellation, before you pay

Your subscription renews automatically at the price and for the period shown on the store purchase sheet at the moment you confirm the purchase, and it keeps renewing until you cancel. The same information appears on the subscription entry in your store account afterwards, and that record, not this page, is the one that governs your particular purchase.

4. How to cancel

Cancelling stops the next charge. It does not shorten the period you have already paid for, and you keep your profiles until that period ends.

On iPhone or iPad. Open Settings, tap your name at the top, tap Subscriptions, choose Laced, then choose the option to cancel. You can also reach the same list from the App Store by tapping your account picture.

On Android. Open the Google Play app, tap your profile picture, tap Payments and subscriptions, tap Subscriptions, choose Laced, then choose the option to cancel.

If you cancel and then change your mind before the period ends, the same screen usually lets you resubscribe without losing the remaining time.

Deleting the app does not cancel anything. That is the most common way people end up paying for a plan they stopped using, and it is worth checking your subscription list rather than assuming.

5. How to ask for a refund

Apple. Follow Apple’s instructions for requesting a refund for an App Store purchase, sign in, find the Laced purchase and choose a reason. Apple decides, and Apple pays.

Google. Use Google’s refund request process for Google Play purchases, which walks you through requesting a refund for a subscription or a recent charge. Google decides, and Google pays.

Neither store publishes a decision we can predict for you, and we will not pretend otherwise. Both tend to look at how recent the charge is and whether the service worked, so ask promptly and describe the specific problem.

6. What we can do

We cannot reverse a charge. We can do the things that actually help a refund request succeed, and we will do them without arguing about it.

  • Confirm in writing what your plan is, when it renewed and what you were charged.
  • Confirm whether a fault was on our side, with detail you can paste into a store request.
  • Fix the underlying problem, or tell you plainly that we cannot.

Write to hello@lacedentries.com with the store you bought from and the date of the charge.

7. The free plan

One billing profile is free. There is no charge to reverse, nothing to cancel, and no card involved. You can stop using it by deleting the app, and you can delete the account itself by following the steps in the privacy policy.

8. Your rights beyond the store’s policies

A store refund policy is not the limit of your rights.

If you are a consumer in Australia, the Australian Consumer Law gives you statutory rights that cannot be excluded by a contract, including remedies when a service is not supplied with due care and skill or does not match its description. Those rights sit alongside anything Apple or Google decide.

If you live elsewhere, your local consumer law may give you a cooling-off period or a right to withdraw from a distance contract. Nothing on this page removes it, and the terms and conditions say the same.

9. What a refund is not for

We will say the unpopular part out loud. Not being selected in a Nike SNKRS Draw is not a fault in the service. Selection is random, it is Nike’s decision, and more entries is the only thing a paid plan changes. If you are considering a plan because you expect a particular result from it, the honest advice is not to buy one.

If the app failed to submit an entry you set up correctly, that is a different matter and we want to hear about it.
