Cookies and site storage
This website sets no cookies, runs no analytics and loads nothing from another company. That is why there is no consent banner here, how you can verify it yourself, and what would have to change first.

1. The short version
This website stores nothing on your device and reads nothing from it. No cookies, no local storage, no analytics, no advertising pixels, no tracking of any kind. There is no consent banner because there is nothing to consent to.
Most cookie pages are written to justify a banner. This one exists so you can check a claim rather than take it on trust, and so that the day something does change, the change is visible.
2. What we do not load
Every file this site needs comes from lacedentries.com. Specifically, there is none of the following anywhere on the site.
- No analytics of any kind. No Google Analytics, no Meta Pixel, no heatmaps, no session recording.
- No advertising or conversion tags, and no remarketing.
- No embedded video or audio players.
- No live chat widget, no support bubble, no social share buttons and no embedded posts.
- No web fonts fetched from a font host. The typefaces are downloaded when the site is built and served from this domain, so loading a page here does not tell anyone else that you did.
- No content delivery network for third-party libraries, because there are no third-party libraries.
The App Store and Google Play badges are images stored on this site. They are links. Following one takes you to Apple or to Google, and from that point their privacy practices apply rather than ours.
3. Why there is no banner
The law that governs cookies in the United Kingdom and the European Economic Area is about storing information on your device or reading information already there. It applies to more than cookies, which is why a site can be “cookieless” and still need consent.
We are not relying on a clever reading of an exemption. We do not store anything and we do not read anything, so the obligation does not arise. A banner would still be the wrong answer even if we wanted one, because a banner that offers no real choice is a worse practice than no banner at all.
4. What your browser still does
Two things happen that are not us and are not something we can switch off.
Your browser caches files so the site loads faster the second time. That cache is your browser’s, it lives on your device, and it is cleared from your browser settings like any other site’s.
Your network connection reaches our content delivery network, which necessarily sees your IP address in order to send you a page at all. That is how the web works rather than a choice we made. What we do with those delivery records is covered in the privacy policy, which also flags that the retention period for them still has to be confirmed.
5. How to check us
Open your browser’s developer tools on any page of this site. In Chrome or Edge, look under Application, then Storage. In Safari, look under Storage. In Firefox, look under Storage. Cookies, local storage, session storage and IndexedDB should all be empty for lacedentries.com.
Then open the Network tab and reload. Every request should be to lacedentries.com. If you find one that is not, that is a bug on our side and we would like to hear about it at hello@lacedentries.com.
6. The Laced app is a different thing
This page is about the website only. The app has accounts, holds data and talks to our servers, and none of that is described here. The privacy policy covers the app, including the parts of it we have not finished documenting yet.
7. What would change this, and what we would do
Two things are planned for this site and neither has shipped at the date on this page. Both would belong on this page the moment they do.
A homepage variant cookie. We intend to test two versions of the homepage. If that ships, it sets a first-party cookie that records which version you were shown, so that you keep seeing the same one. It would hold a short value, it would not identify you, and it would not be shared with anyone.
A performance measurement beacon. We intend to measure how fast pages actually load for real visitors. If that ships, it sends page timing figures to our own server. It is first-party, it stores nothing on your device, and the design goal is that it carries no identifier at all.
Neither is live today. When one goes live, this page gets the detail, a date, and a way to object, before the code does.
8. Changes to this page
The date at the top is the date this page was last correct. If you want the underlying evidence rather than the summary, the site is a static build and the network tab is the receipt.
